Brenden Praise was born 5th February 1994. He grew up in Graskop, located in Mpumalanga Province. From an early age, he delved into music, honing his skills in modern music. Brendan’s love for music stems from his musical roots. He began singing at a young age of five and later delved into piano playing at twelve. His keen sense for quality music blossomed early on. With hands-on experience and formal education at Emendy Sound and Music Technology College, he crafts his tunes, produces music, and creates beats.
Brendan’s journey on Idols season 9 also served as a stepping stone in his music career. He secured the runner-up position, with Musa Sukwene clinching the victory by a slim margin of just over 1,000 votes. For his efforts, He received R10,000 worth of fashion vouchers from Truworths. He has been recognized with multiple nominations in recent years, including nods for the South African Music Award for Record of the Year and the South African Music Award for Best Music Video of the Year.


Brendan started his educational journey at Graskop Primary School and continued his secondary studies at Sybrand Van Niekerk High School in Sabie. He then pursued his passion for music by enrolling at Emendy Sound and Music Technology College in Pretoria, South Africa, focusing on sound engineering.


Brendan is joyfully wedded to the renowned businesswoman Nompumelelo, affectionately referred to as Mpoomy. Mpoomy, a successful entrepreneur, has overcome numerous challenges on her path to success. The couple tied the knot in January 2017 and are proud parents of two children. Their baby boy arrived in 2020, while their eldest daughter was born in 2018.
