How to Apply for a Re-mark or Re-check For Your Matric Papers

The 2025 matric results are out. While the results are marked with precision, some learners may still have concerns and wish to apply for a re-mark or re-check.
The Department of Basic Education has made provision for this. Candidates who wish to have their examination scripts reviewed may apply for a re-mark or re-check by paying the prescribed fee.
How to Apply for a Re-mark or Re-check
Visit (https://www.eservices.gov.za), go to the Education tab, and complete the required fields. Candidates who prefer to apply through their school must submit their applications to the relevant school or district office in their province.
Please note that this process involves a fee. A re-mark of examination papers costs R120, while a re-check costs R30.
The application period will close on 27 January 2026 (for both manual and online applications).
After submitting an application, candidates are required to wait for the examination body to complete the review process before viewing their results. For clarity, the re-mark results will be released on 13 March 2026 and will be available at the school or examination centre where the 2025 examinations were written.
