Pauline Mbangula is a Namibian citizen who was arrested at the OR Tambo International Airport in South Africa on Sunday 22 of September 2024 after the airport X-ray screening device detected drugs in her stomach.
Background
Pauline Mbangula whose full name is Thuli Taleninawa M Pauline Mbangula was born March 6, 1994 (Age 30). Hailing from Grootfontein in Namibia, she lived most of her life in Windhoek, where she finished her basic education.
Upon graduation, she secured a job as a waitress at one of the busiest nightclubs and bars in her city, where she worked for some years before her involvement with a Nigerian drug dealer.
In the early weeks of September 2024, Pauline Mbangula traveled to Brazil for a baecation. After her vacation, her Nigerian boyfriend, whose identity is yet to be revealed, persuaded her to ingest 68 capsules of suspected cocaine.
Arrest
On September 22, Pauline Mbangula landed at the OR Tambo International Airport in South Africa and upon her arrival at the airport, the sophisticated X-ray device installed at the terminal quickly detected hard drugs in her stomach, leading to her being arrested. While in custody, she was taken to the hospital where she was made to expell the drugs.
Pauline Mbangula will be taken to court and if found guilty, the mother of one could face as many as 25 years in South African jail.
