Nompumelelo Rosetta Hlatshwayo popularly known as DJ Rosetta D33p is a female South African Deep House DJ, Artist, Vocalist, Singer, Songwriter, Model and Influencer. The Durban rising star, Rosetta is making waves globally and in the South African music space. She recently won the Smirnoff Shaya Ingoma contest which was an incredible milestone in her entertainment career path.

Rosetta D33p Early Life, Age and Background

Rosetta D33p was born on August 24th, 1994 in Clermont. Clermont is a popular township of Durban, located in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The town has an historical records of ancient traditions, apartheid days and great geographical features with rich arable soil for farming.

The georgous House Music DJ loved music from her early age. According to her, Music has been part of her life since childhood and she feels music flowing through her veins.

Rosetta also recalled that growing up in her hometown Clermont, was a huge challenge for her because there was no role model or star around her, due to the fact that, Clermont is a small township where there were very rare success stories hence there was nobody to inspire and encourage her while growing up. Hence, Rosetta encouraged herself to be different, that she will change that story and make a global impact and recognitions across the globe.

Rosetta D33p Education and Career

Rosetta D33p studied Hydrology and Geography Science at the University of Zululand, where she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Science. Rosetta was trained and groomed by the Godfathers of Deep House South Africa. She was trained actively in disc jockey DJ’ing, production and singing. They also gave her a unique platform to showcase her talent to South Africans and the global stage. Rosetta was greatly influenced by Godfathers, Black Coffee and Davido.
