Thando Thabethe is a popular South African model, actress, Radio DJ, TV Presenter, Influencer and Entrepreneur. Thando is also an advocate for women’s rights and empowerment. She uses her voice to teach gender equality in South Africa and Beyond.

She is also the first Nivea’s (German body-care company) brand ambassador in Africa and she is named as one of Africa’s most successful Women under 30.

Thando Thabethe was born on the 18th June 1990 in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. She loved active reading and writing from her early age. She was raised and trained by her mother, her Father passed away when she was 13 years old, ever since then, her mother took the sole responsibility to train her.

Thando completed her primary Education in Johannesburg. Thence she attended Mondeor High School, South Africa where she completed her secondary education.

Thence, she proceeded to the University of Johannesburg, South Africa where she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (BCom.)

Thando Thabethe Career

Thando Thabethe began her career when she was 18 years old. She started her career in 2008 at UJFM 95.4 ( A Community Radio Station, suitated at the University of Johannesburg, Bunting Road Campus). Then in 2011, she moved to YFM 99.2 FM (A “Youth” radio station in Johannesburg, South Africa). Then in 2013, she joined 5FM on The Roger Goode Show.

She joined acting in 2014, where she played a vital role in a South African soap opera titled Generations where she played the role of Nolwazi Buzo and the series lasted from 2014 to 2017.

On May 12th, 2022 she was announced as one of the Judge of Miss South Africa 2022.

She was recently (August, 2023) nominated under two categories at the 17th Annual SAFTAs South Africa Films and Television Awards. The categories are Best Actress in a TV drama and Best Actress in a TV drama.
