Background & Age
Real name Zandile Nxumalo, Zee Nxumalo originally hails from Eswatini but lived most of her life in south Africa. She was born January 6, 2003 (Age 21).
Zee Nxumalo began polishing her vocal skills while she was still in highschool. She initially set out to become an Afropop artist but switched to Amapiano due to the waves currently sweeping through the SA music scene.
Zee Nxumalo started her career way when she was young. At the age of 15, she has already caught the attention of many A-lister and music lovers following her rendition of the AmaBlesser hits single by Mlindo The Vocalist and DJ Maphorisa went viral in 2018, amassing over a million views on YouTube alone. Known then as Zee De Toxic, she quickly built on the gains by dropping more remixes and in 2022, she released her debut EP, KwaNxumalo.
Rise to Fame
By the age of 15, Zee Nxumalo was already famous but she had yet to hit the mainstream. She mostly dominated social media space in 2018 until 2022 with her remixes and renditions of popular hit singles.
Things changed for the vocalist after her ‘Pholile 2.0’ single with Azana and Mlindo The Vocalist went viral in 2023, accumulating over 2 million streams. She solidified her 2023 dominance with the release of ‘Funk 55’ with Shakes & Les, DBN Gogo, Ceeka RSA and Chley. And continued to blaze a trail across the charts in 2024 with more standout collaborations including ‘Thula Mabota’ with Pabi Cooper, 031Choppa and Shakes & Les, ‘Nguwe’ with Bandros & ZANI Nguwe and ‘Chengu Shesha’ with DJ Tshegu, LeeMcKrazy, Al Xapo,Vyno Keyz & Quay R.
