Earlier today, Mihlali Ndamase trended on social media following her statement that she fears for her life and safety after months of intense harassment by Michael Brits.
In the statement shared on her social media pages, she said that threats and other abnormal behaviour from Michael Brits began after she rejected his advances. Unable to take rejection, Michael, who is a married man with children, began obsessive stalking, including following her and appearing at her workplace unannounced.
Seeking to put an end to this behaviour that put her life at risk, she released a statement with the hope that it would scare Michael. For many of you who are here for the gist and wondering where it all began, let us go through it together.
Background
Mihlali Ndamase and Michael Brits met in 2025. According to multiple reports, it was alleged that Michael took Mihlali Ndamase to Montana Dance & Night Club, one of the biggest corners in South Africa, located in Rosebank. It was also alleged that Michael Brits paid Mihlali Ndamase an amount of R75 000 for the outing and appearance together.
Everything went well between them at first, but when Michael Brits wanted more than just an outing, Mihlali Ndamase declined. While she did not want any further communication with Michael, she also refused to refund the money that was allegedly given to her. This led to a fight breaking out between them.
The fight led to Mimi hitting Michael with a bottle. It was so bad that Mike had to open a GBH case at Rosebank Police Station in 2025.
After the fight, evidence began to emerge of Mimi wanting Michael to sign an NDA, meaning she might have had some knowledge that Mike wanted more from her.
