Gospel singer Snenhlanhla Msomi, known professionally as Sneziey, was born on July 23, 1994, in Umlazi, KwaZulu-Natal. Emerging from one of South Africa’s largest townships, known for its NUZ car registration, she has risen to become a celebrated figure in gospel music, enjoying national recognition.

Her career gained momentum following her role as a backing vocalist and her runner-up finish on Idols SA in 2019, despite facing body shaming from viewers during the show’s 15th season. Sneziey draws inspiration from both The Almighty and her grandmother, who supported her through her journey from a township upbringing to a flourishing entertainment career.

Songs like “Kungumusa,” “Izulu,” and “Ungubaba” strike a chord with a broad audience, including both religious and non-religious Christians, due to their spiritual messages and their blend of traditional and contemporary Southern African gospel.

Her most recent release is a 9-track album titled Sibonga Umusa, which came out on November 24, 2023, through Gallo Music, the renowned record label she has been associated with since her debut single, “Black Sheep.”
