Moozlie, whose real name is Nomuzi Mabena, is a talented South African rapper and television presenter. She was born in Benoni, Gauteng, and even won the MTV VJ Search in 2012.

Profile and Age

Nomuzi, born on September 22, 1992, grew up in Rynfield, Daveyton, Gauteng. It’s a small suburb in Johannesburg’s East Rand. She really made a name for herself in the South African entertainment industry after winning the MTV Base VJ search in 2012. She beat out thousands of other hopefuls, which is quite impressive. Since then, Nomuzi, also known as Moozlie, has become one of South Africa’s ‘It girls’.

Career

Nomuzi began her career as a model in Benoni, working with local lines and winning Miss Benoni in 2010. However, she had bigger aspirations in presenting and being an MC. She hosted events like Mr and Miss Benoni, ‘Masters of Rhythm’, and MTV Base Live Urban Smooth Sessions with Klipdrift. She gained public recognition as a finalist in SABC1’s Live presenter search and also made a name for herself as the Skanda Queen in rap circles. She was signed to K.O’s record label Cashtime Life before going independent in 2016. Between 2012 and 2016, she won the MTV Base VJ Search and became a VJ for MTV Base. She then joined VUZU and Channel O Africa.

In 2016, she left Cashtime Life records and even made a feature on Rouge’s song “Mbongo Zaka”. That same year, she started her own record label, Nomuzi Mabena Music. In October 2017, she released her debut mixtape called Versus, and in 2018, she returned as a presenter for VUZU Amp’s flagship show “V Entertainment” alongside Somizi Mhlongo. On 7 September 2018, she dropped her debut album, “Victory”, with the lead single “Vatela” featuring Kid X. She’s also been involved in important campaigns, like raising awareness about reducing texting and driving with Volkswagen SA and Drive Dry. Recently, she’s been helping her friend DJ Zinhle with her businesses and has become a well-known reality TV star on Zinhle’s show. Plus, she’s one of the most sought-after female rappers in South Africa.

Education

Moozlie attended St Dunstan’s College in Benoni and graduated from there. After finishing high school, she went to Varsity College in Sandton to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences. But in 2012, she got selected by MTV Base VJ Search, so she decided to leave college and focus on her entertainment career.

Relationship

Nomuzi, also known as Moozlie, has confirmed that she is officially single. She shared this news during an interview on the Choppin It With Buddha T’s podcast with Zingah. There were rumors about the end of her eight-year relationship with Sbuda Roc, but she chose to keep quiet about it.
