Hilda Effiong and her team is currently determined to conquer the existing Guinness World Record for the longest cooking time held by Indian chef, Lata Tondon. The previous record holder Lata Tondon completed the vigorous task in 87 Hours, 45 minutes, and 00 secs in India in 2019.
For her to achieve this task, she will have to plan a four-day cook to defeat the existing record holder. Her marathon cook-a-thon started on May 11, 2023 at the Amore Gardens, Lekki, Lagos. She is currently being supported by various artist in Nigeria, and also the Governor of Lagos State Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Hilda Baci currently targets a 93 hours cooking time to beat the previous record holder, showcasing her cooking and culinary skills before a live audience in Lagos State.
Rules of winning the world record for the longest cooking time
There are some set rules of winning the competition
1. She must stand to cook, and she’s not permitted to take any substance or energy drink to boast her strength while cooking
2. She is allowed to eat food and drink water and take glucose while cook all around the clock. She is not permitted to sleep during the competition. She is given 5 minutes in every hour to rest, which is also closely monitored by am Expert medical team
3. The food she cooks during the competition is shared freely to the guest at the venue. She is not selling the food.
4. There is no restrictions on the type of food she can cook, she can cook any food as long as she is cooking m
