Fidelis Moema was born in Pretoria South Africa, on the 21st August, 1991. Fidelis Moema, a 32-year-old bursary specialist, is currently in custody for a R16m fraud against KPMG. On Tuesday, 2 April 2024, Fidelis Moema surrendered to the Hawks. So, this whole situation started when Moema, who worked as a bursary specialist at KPMG, allegedly misused around R16.5 million meant for student bursaries between 2021 and 2022.
According to Warrant Officer Thatohatsi Mavimbela, the spokesperson for the Hawks, Moema’s job at KPMG was to handle bursary funds, which are meant to help students with their university fees. Investigations have shown that instead of doing what they were supposed to, Moema actually took those funds and put them in the bank accounts of people they knew and different company owners. His first appearance in court was on the day of his arrest at the Palm Ridge Commercial Crimes Court.
The court decided to push back the case to Tuesday, April 9th, 2024. That is the day when Moema will formally apply for bail. But besides the financial crimes he’s accused of, Moema is quite well-known in the public eye for his personal life. He is actually the father of content creator Sthe Bhengu’s child.
