Kaiga Mutundu popularly known as Chris Kaiga, is a talented award-winning Afro-pop singer, songwriter, actor, activist and director. Kaiga’s music consists of a stylistic fusion of sheng, rap, spoken words and uptown beats,which move in tandem with amusing poetry and distinct musical flow, giving his brand a standout edge.

With a deep collaborative foundation, including being a member of musical groups such as SLAP (Sounds Like A Plan), Usual Suspects, and KHM (Kwenye Hii Masaa), Chris Kaiga launched his solo career in 2018 and quickly rose to household prominence across Eastern Africa and beyond.

Chris Kaiga’s tracks ‘Zimenice’, ‘Niko on’, and ‘Bundaz’ have established him as a hitmaker in the industry. His achievement, however, did not happen overnight. Early Life

Chris Kaiga (age 36) was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya, and his passion for music, fueled by a colorful family life, inspired him to turn a pastime into a full-time vocation. Chris Kaiga’s musical journey began in 2009 with a strong interest in music production, which grew into a full-fledged career as an artist. Chris published his first single in 2011 with the help of his sound engineer, Asi Akatsa.

Career and Songs

Chris Kaiga’s 2019 solo album “Zimenice (feat. Tezzla)” was followed by chart-topping songs such as “Bundas”, “Chain Chain”, “Konkodo (featuring Kiloriti)”, “Next”, and “Mastingo (featuring Kahu$h)”, “I Want (featuring Mutoriah)”, and a feature on Nyashinski’s “Hapo Tu”, all of which have achieved varying degrees of success. The Nairobi superstar was nominated for the Xtreeme Music Awards for “Zimenice (feat. Tezzla)” and has been a Pulse Music Video Awards regular for three years running.

His three-year career with the PMVA includes one prize for the Best New Artist category in 2019, as well as two nominations for 2020’s “Mastingo (featuring Kahu$h)”, (Best Choreographed Video of the Year), and and “I Want (featuring Mutoriah)” in 2021, respectively.
