Career

Ba2cada, also known as Nyakallo Leine, started his career in 2004 at Jozi FM, a community radio station in Johannesburg. In 2006, he was headhunted by Lesedi FM, an SABC station, where he began hosting the Afternoon Drive Time Show on weekdays from 15:00 to 18:00, and the Top 30 Count Down on Saturdays from 09:00 to 12:00. Ba2cada quickly gained a massive following on Lesedi FM and received numerous awards for his work at the station. His dedication and talent were recognized when he served as a judge in the Kwaito Category of the South African Music Awards from 2008 to 2013. As a strong supporter of local music and talent, Ba2cada won the Best Afternoon Radio Presenter award at the MTN Radio Awards in 2012 and 2013.

He was also honored by the Premier of the Free State, Ace Magashule, as “The Most Influential Young Person in The Province.” In 2008, Ba2cada founded the Ba2Cada Games, an annual soccer tournament aimed at uplifting the community. Over the years, the tournament has grown and developed, with talented players from around South Africa participating in the 1st Division and Professional League. Ba2cada is also the owner of D’General FC, an ABC Motsepe Soccer team, which he co-owns with Kamohelo Mokotjo, a player for Bafana Bafana and Brentford FC in England.

The stir that followed his salary reveal

People on social media couldn’t believe their ears when Ba2Cada spilled the tea about his earnings in a video shared by MDN News on X. He was chatting with MacG and Sol Phenduka on the Podcast & Chill, and he talked about his first salary and how much he’s making now. He said, “I was doing 3 to 6 five days. I just wanted a platform because I always knew that I was going to prove myself there so that I could go to the national radio station. It was for me to prove myself so that Lesedi FM could hear me. It’s 20 years later, I started with R1,500, and now I am on R180,000.” This sparked a big debate on social media about fairness in the entertainment industry, especially after Penny Ntuli shared her salary at Gagasi FM.
