The 2025 matric results are out and black kids did well in their various fields. One student that has got everyone talking is Siza Gule.

Who is Siza Gule?

Siza Gule is an 18-year-old student at St John’s College, one of the biggest schools in South Africa. Hailing from Soweto, he comes from a high-class family with a strong commitment to education. His upbringing shaped him into a responsible young man, which ultimately led to his appointment as Head of School, a feat achieved through discipline, resilience, and the unwavering support of his family and teachers.

In the 2025 matric examinations, he was one of the top achievers, earning nine distinctions. He excelled in English, isiZulu, Life Orientation, Mathematics, Dramatic Arts (100%), French, Physical Sciences, Further Studies Mathematics Extended, and Further Studies English.

He obtained an overall average of approximately 94%, placing him among the country’s top-performing matriculants. He was the second-highest achiever at his school, finishing just behind Ruhan Gosai, another outstanding student who achieved an overall average of 94% with ten distinctions. Ruhan’s distinctions included English, isiZulu, Life Orientation, Mathematics, Information Technology, Physical Sciences, Further Studies Mathematics Extended, Further Studies English, and Further Studies Physics.

Siza Gule’s exceptional results attracted the attention of both South African and international institutions. Before long, he was awarded a full scholarship to Harvard University in the United States, where he will study Law and Politics.
