1. Create two million new jobs: The DA intends to solve the unemployment problem facing South Africa by loosening up the labour market, up-skilling the workforce, and make it easier for businesses to invest in the economy. The DA also assured South Africans that its government will attract foreign investors.

2. End load-shedding and water-shedding: Loadshedding has become a reoccurring problem in South Africa. The DA in its manifesto revealed that they intend to kill this problem and end the energy crisis by getting the state out of the power generation business and diversifying the energy mix, and encourage the emergence of private prosumers (individuals who both produce and consume electricity) so that we can bring load-shedding to an end. DA also intend to end water shortages by getting more pump stations and ensuring all pipes are well laid out and optimally functional and connected.

3. Halve the rate of violent crime, including murder, attempted murder, and gender-based violence: The DA revealed that they intend to revamp the security forces and create a new independent crime-busting institution, to ensure that those guilty of crimes are put behind bars, and to devolve policing powers to competent provincial and local governments.

4. Crush corruption by abolishing cadre deployment in favour of merit-based appointments: The DA intends to end the collapse of cities and towns, and fight corruption by abolishing the bad practices of deploying party loyalists into government positions, and professionalise the public service, and prioritise the delivery of basic services.

5. Lift six million people out of poverty: By increasing the child grant to the food poverty line, and expanding the basket of essential food items exempt from Value Added Tax (VAT), the DA intends to end poverty and lift millions out of poverty regardless of skin colour.

6. Triple the number of grade four learners who can read for meaning: Increasing the percentage of Grade 4 learners who are capable of reading and writing, the DA in its manifesto revealed that it intends to end education deficiency. The DA also assured South Africans that it will equip learners with the required reading, writing, and numerical materials and ensure majority have a solid foundational knowledge of mathematics and science. The DA promises that it would ensure that each child gets 210 full teaching days per year, and that competent teachers are only allowed to teach.

7. Ensure quality healthcare for all, irrespective of economic status: The DA is promising to boost the health care system in South Africa by increasing the numbers of doctors per 1,000 citizens to equate with those in other middle-income countries. DA also intend to create transparency by removing politicians from the running of healthcare facilities.
