Providus Bank History, Origin and Year Founded
Providus Bank is a Nigerian commercial Bank licensed and approved by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to provide seamless financial transactions to her customers, this includes e-channels financial services, cutting edge IT technology and Security, loan facilities to business and provide endless credit support for several industries such as entertainment, oil and gas, agriculture, e-commerce and hospitality. The bank was granted license by the Central bank of Nigeria on 15th June 2016, to operate as a regional bank.
In November 2018, the bank started banking operations as a regional commercial bank serving clients in Federal capital territory (FCT) Abuja and Lagos State. The bank preliminary goal is to serve large corporations, governmental agencies, HNIs or high net-worth individuals (HNIs) and SME businesses.
Certificate of Incorporation
The bank’s certificate of incorporation was issued on the 6th January 2016 by Corporate Affairs Commission – Federal Republic of Nigeria. Providus Bank was previously registered and called UNITED MORTGAGE BANK PLC, which was changed to PROVIDUS BANK under a special resolution.
