Jama Mahlalela is a Swazi-Canadian professional basketball coach and he is currently the assistant coaches for the Toronto Raptors of the National Basketball Association.
Jama Mahlalela Early Life, Age and Education
Jama Mahlalela was born in 1980, and he is a descent from Swaziland and Canadian Origin. Jama played professional basketball during his youthful age. He played for the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds team where he served as the team captain.
In 2003, he lead his team to win the Canadian West Basketball title. Immediately after the competition, he graduated from the University of British Columbia where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology (Kinesiology is the scientific study of human movement).

Jama Mahlalela has as a progressive career path, he has mentored and groomed several basketball players to professional levels. He is referred to as one of the best assistance coach in National Basketball Association (NBA).HE started his first coaching career as an assistant coach in the University of Toronto, Canada from 2004 to 2008.
Then in 2013, he joined the Toronto Raptors as an assistant coach which ended at 2018. Thereafter, He joined Raptors 905 basketball team, where he was appointed the head coach of the team. He contributed immersely to the team’s outing and performance from 2018 – 2020.
In 2021-2023, he joined the Golden State Warriors as an assistant coach, where he resigned in 2023. Currently, he is the assistant coach of Toronto Raptors.
