Mama Joy Chauke is a popular South African football enthusiast, SAFA top fan, Bafana Bafana Supporter, Orlando Pirates most prominent fan and FIFA 2022 Super Fan. Mama Joy Chauke is the country’s number one fan in Sports. She embodies the a good team spirit and a great sportsmanship.

Mama Joy Chauke is known for her zealous passion for sports. She has supported and cheered various teams to victory, including the recent 2023 Rugby World Cup won by South Africa Springboks team, and she has contributed greatly in the fan base other local teams.

Mama Joy Chauke Early Life, Age and Career

Mama Joy Chauke (Age 50) was born on the 22nd of December 1973 in Malamulela, Limpopo, South Africa. Malamulele also known as Town of Malamulele or Area of Malamulele, it is located in Limpopo province of South Africa, predominantly occupied by the people of Tsonga. She currently lives in Dobsonville, Soweto, South Africa with her Son ‘Chad’ and her granddaughter ‘Xila’.

The football enthusiast was introduced into sports by her father from a very young age. She started watching football and soccer with the manly figures in her family at the age of 4. She completed her high school at Shingwedzi High School where she was the Netball captain of the Soccer team.

Mama Joy Chauke is often seen putting on regalia in support of her favorite soccer team. She is a die-hard fan of Orlando Pirates football club for over 30 years. She has been consistent with their games every season.

However, she recently shocked the football fans in South Africa over her recent announcement that she will no longer be supporting the Black and White army, she will be supporting the Royal AM football club going forward.

Mama Joy Chauke was amongst the special guest invited by FIFA and Qatar’s Supreme Committee to represent Africa at the Soccer spectacle in 2022. She won the Award for the “Best superfan” at the FIFA fan leadership network Awards held during the 2022 Qatar world cup.

Termination of Superfan Sponsorship

In July of 2024, the minister of Sport, Arts and Culture, Gayton McKenzie announced the termination of Superfan sponsorship, which eventually affected Mama Joy. Going forward, Mama Joy is expected to fund her trips solely from her pocket and not from the account of the government.
